    About the Role As the Field Support and Security Specialist you will be responsible for the planning, risk assessment and delivery of safe field operations directly related to the delivery of the project activities within the community.

    Predominantly a field-based position, this role will ensure that the protection and safety of our project personnel is maintained.

    It will have a significant focus on prevention through strong collaboration with the land engagement team and effective and genuine community engagement.

    The key to success in this role is to ensure incidents are minimised and that project personnel can safely perform their tasks within the community whilst actively engaging with delivery partners, Police, local council, and other key project stakeholders.

    This role will report to the Manager, Protective Security and Emergency Managementand is based in Melbourne.
    What you will deliver Develop, maintain, and implement the physical security and personnel safety plans.
    Develop policies, procedures and oversee contingency plan development for various threat / risk scenarios.

    Embedding a culture of security awareness through ongoing engagement with project personnel Provide support and advice on physical security matters to the project and its contractors.

    s93's)Provision of timely and pragmatic judgement on physical security and emergency matters Working collaboratively within a team of landowner engagement officers and alongside current regional engagement delivery partners, to provide points of regular engagement and contact with potential impacted landowners within the region of the project.

    Delivering regular contact with landowners on a range of project matters and landowner matters, with responsibility for follow up within the project team and with landowners, where required.

    Operate specialist security equipment and personal protective equipment (body worn cameras, satellite tracking, radios etc)Compile detailed reports on security matters, events, and host/co-ordinate incident de-briefs.

    Co-ordinate field specialist operations to matters of increased risk and potentially hostile landowners.
    Gather Security intelligence monitoring and reports from specialist sources adapting immediate and long-term project plans.

    What we like about you Detailed awareness of compliance and best practice arrangements for major incident management and response Investigation experience determining root causes of security breaches including liaising with law enforcement re complex criminal investigations.

    Incident management experience ideally gained interfacing with State response, incident, and control agencies.

    Experience contributing to the preparation of policies, procedures, strategies, and executive level papers in relation to protective security, major incidents, incident reviews and statements of facts.

    Ability to handle matters in strict confidentiality protocols and undertake safety and risk intelligence analysis, assessment, and controlled dissemination.

    An understanding of community dynamics, community development and local issue management Experience in navigating challenging engagement environments and maintaining mutual respect, dignity, and safety.
