We're seeking a qualified and confident Laboratory Supervisor, to join our team at Brickworks QLD, Rochedale. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be primarily responsible for product testing, quality improvements and product research and development at our brick plant.

Duties include but are not limited to:***- Conduct product testing and assessments in accordance with Australian Standard.

  • Manage the NATA lab and the NATA accreditation.
  • Assist in the quality control of the products.
  • Manage and audit the quality control system.
  • Assist in the research and development of product improvements.
  • Assist in the research and development of stockpile improvements/modification.
  • Assist in the annual research and development tax claim.
  • Develop initiatives to improve processes and sustainability.
  • Manage field quality issues.
  • Research background literature.
  • Analysis and testing of raw materials.
  • Assist in answering technical enquiries.
  • Maintain high standard of housekeeping on and around the laboratory.

Success Requirements:

***- A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline like Ceramics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Science.

  • A strong understanding of ceramic chemistry (or a willingness to learn).
  • Proficiency in mathematics and MS Excel.
  • Strong problemsolving and critical thinking.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Highly organised and strong time management skills.
