About the role:


The State Emergencies and Support Command drives the Victoria Police's strategic agenda and operational response for emergency management, operational communications, custodial management, real-time monitoring and events management.


Reporting to the Business Analyst, this role will play a key role in delivering a broad range of financial services including management and reporting, procurement and accounting procedures, compliance, budget coordination, monitoring and analysis, assessment and delivery of all routine requirements and services.

You are also encouraged to contribute to capacity building and process improvement through feeding back best practices and redefining tools and techniques as appropriate.

Your duties will include:


  • Contribute to the delivery of business services within State Emergencies and Support Command across a broad range of administrative functions, including purchasing, auditing of transactions in accordance with organisational policies.
  • Assist with monthly finance reports, budget phasing and forecast activities.
  • Analyse and monitor monthly expenditure vs actual report for divisions and major projects.
  • Review and analyse budget build and assist with variance analysis.
  • Analyse consolidated expenditure, invoices and prepare recoups where necessary.
  • Manage finance and procurement information on the Command's intranet page.
  • Maintenance of (PAIR) Portable and Attractive Item Register management, including auditing and reporting.
  • Monitor Consolidated Monthly IT Invoices and vehicle fleet reports.
  • Maintaining office systems with full ownership for the initiation, delivery, and improvement of administrative support functions, including database and records management and general office management.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in business or commerce is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of procurement guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Stakeholder management skills.

  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
