Position Summary:


What you will do:


  • Lead the overall vision for the environmental and small equipment business. Build a shortterm and longterm product roadmap. Lead product launch plans, messaging, product pricing and positioning, customer value proposition, forecasting, and channel strategies.
  • Product positioning and pricing guidance, growth strategy, competitor and market knowledge, inventory maintenance and marketing outputs.
  • Collaborate with wider business units to help make sure that the needs of our customer can be met and supported and position Thermo Fisher Scientific as a supplier of choice for the defined product range.

Market Strategy:


  • The compilation of marketing plans and strategy for your portfolio in line with customer needs, business goals and market intelligence. Alignment with Segment Marketers for timing and execution in support of ANZ business growth plans.
  • Drive profitability & revenue growth through sales opportunity pipeline development and proactive portfolio lifecycle management. Monitor market, competition and technology trends and capabilities to shape strategy and roadmap.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of NPIs to support SOW and SOM marketing plans.

Demand Generation:


  • Build customer rapport Conduct voice of the customer to assess market trends and competition offerings to develop proactive strategies to strengthen the product line's business advantage.
  • Partner with Marketing, Commercial and other resources to provide product line training, productspecific technical and marketing support, as well as develop the tools to assist with the selling process
  • Close liaison with the sales teams to assess the response to and suitability of current promotional material to ensure promotional material is being used successfully.
  • Digital: Understand the digital landscape and how to drive lead generation throughtheline (digital + classical marketing). Ability to own the relationship with internal digital partners and external agencies to implement digital strategies and product activations using digital. Experience across the full digital marketing mix is advantageous including SEM, SEO, Social, eDM and Analytics).

Business Unit Relationship Management:


  • Successfully connect with and lead all key BU relationships so that expectations are understood, issues are proactively communicated and resolved, and performance measurement criteria are mutually agreed upon and achieved.

Inventory Management:


  • Meet service level expectations whilst meeting targets for indent, slow moving (stock obsolescence) and excess stock.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:


  • Stage & Gate NPI process experience highly regarded

Skills & Attributes:


  • 3+ years commercial experience within product management, or other relevant marketing experience is strongly preferred combined with infield laboratory experience
  • Track record in driving business growth through the development and execution of product strategies
  • Experience in working in a global and matrix organization with a decentralized model (preferred)
  • Highly motivated and resourceful individual who is driven by results
  • Excellent numeracy, literacy, and verbal communication skills with a fastidious attention to detail
