The Role


Our Project Exploration team is growing rapidly and seeking their next front-line leader to join our Project Services, Contracts & Compliance department.


The Superintendent Projects & Planning primary responsibility is to successfully lead a team for improving contractor onboarding processes, contractor and staff compliance, rostering management and logistics, whilst continuing to service the day to day demands of the above, for contractors and Project Services staff.


You will be the key driver for the team and oversee the safe delivery of specialist projects, within Project Services.

The Professional Development of staff within your team will be an additional KPI for this role.


This will be hands on position and reporting directly to the Manager of Contracts & Compliance, and have the benefit to be located at our new state of the art Head Office in Osborne Park, which is set to be the best office facility in Australia.


Key deliverables:


  • Design and Implementation of Process Improvement concepts, to enhance contractor onboarding, contractor and staff compliance, roster management and logistics.
  • Management of Special Projects within the Contracts and Compliance team, to aid ongoing operations and business improvements.
  • Leading a team responsible for servicing the day to day logĂ­stical demands for staff and contractors.
  • Management of the Exploration Activities Schedule (MS Project) to assist with project scheduling across Exploration sites, to include, byt not limited to; drill rig allocation, earthworks allocation, survey (airborne/wireline/flora/heritage) planning and coordination.
  • Liaison between key stakeholders to assist with the planning and personnel resourcing of Exploration projects.
  • Participation in contractor review sessions, to help optimise contractor KPI's.
  • Participation in the Hazard Identification / Risk Assessments process, for key projects.
  • Collaboration with the Health and Safety Team, to promote and improve the safety culture within the business.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • 10+ years in the Mining or Natural Resources industry.
  • Relevant tertiary education in engineering or science.
  • Previous Project Management Experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading a team, in a staffing or project capacity.
  • Vast experience participating in the Hazard Identification / Risk Assessment process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to Manage and Plan projects.
  • Strong ability to engage with stakeholders to enhance project outcomes.
  • Comprehensive skills in the use of Microsoft office suite, including MS Project.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask independently.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Strong safety focus.
