The Role


At IAG, we currently have a Full-Time Permanent opportunity available for a Claims Consultant role to join our WFI SME & Agri Team.

The primary purpose of the Claims Consultant role is to aid customers calling in regarding lodging claims, managing claims for their business/farm and domestic property, and providing customers with updates on their claim.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately lodge and record customer claims
  • Provide an effortless claims and customer experience for our customers measured through customer survey results, verbatim feedback, and Quality Listening
  • Deliver performance against business Key Performance Indicators


  • Decision making

  • Researching, analysing and investigating information provided by our customers and supplier network to validate and assess property insurance claims. Liaising with suppliers and repairers to ensure replacements and work are carried out in a timely manner


  • Processing

  • Managing the settlement of claims and ensuring individual and team work lists are maintained up to date. Clear and concise records are to be kept of every interaction with our customers
  • Demonstrate IAG Mindset, Values and Behaviors.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Previous experience in insurance is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrate sound computer and literacy skills.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish relationships.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a work from home environment.
