The Role


The Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) Service provides parents, children and significant others engaged in the separation process with an alternative way of resolving parenting and property issues, underpinned by a child focus.


Based in Adelaide CBD, the Family Advisor (FA) will be responsible in providing support for clients that are accessing FDR services in Centacare.

They will focus on promoting safe and healthy family relationships, build awareness of the FDR process and encourage separated parents to consider child focused parenting arrangements after separation.


FAs will have an ongoing management of cases where they will assist clients by providing intakes, referral pathways internally and/or with other stakeholder networks and support FDRP's as required.

This position is funded on a fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2024.

What you need to bring

  • Undergraduate qualification in social work, psychology, welfare or equivalent experience in community services or family law sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Efficiency in computer use including MS Office Suite
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check. (previously known as 'Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance')
  • Valid Driver's Licence

Desirable:


  • Previous work experience or knowledge in a welfare organisation
  • Experience using Athena Penelope electronic client management system
