Description
The Department of Communication Design is looking for a Lecturer, Communication Design to join their team.


Working to provide a strong contribution to teaching and research across Swinburne's Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Communication Design (Honours) and Master of Design.

Playing a critical role in overall student experience and teaching quality the successful applicant will be acknowledged as an established design academic within your field with a growing reputation for innovation, high quality teaching and research.


About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated experience of tertiary teaching in Communication design with high quality student outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage curriculum and/or courses in Communication design with outstanding graduate outcomes, and with a high degree of organizational and administrative skill
  • Demonstrated professional practice in the communication design industry (a minimum of three years' experience), strong professional networks and evidence of expertise in design
  • An emerging track record in Communication Design research, possibly including photographic and digital media techniques as evidenced by nontraditional research outcomes and/or publications
  • An emerging track record of industry collaboration in communication design research and education

Qualifications

  • PhD in Communication Design
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body
  • Tertiary teaching qualification or equivalent
