About Anaesthesia at Monash Health


The specialist service at Monash ranges from General Paediatric and Adult ENT, Complex paediatrics, Complex Rhinology, Complex Otology, Snoring and Sleep apnoea Surgery, Laryngology, Head and Neck as well as reconstructive surgery.

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe and effective person centred care, provide teaching and supervision of specialist registrar trainees and enhance your career in your chosen subspecialist field.

Anaesthesia Service at Monash Health is unique in that it is the only major health service in Victoria supporting children and adults.

The unit looks after patients from early infancy and covers the whole range of diseases.

The department of Anaesthesia at Monash Health provides adult and paediatric services to Dandenong, Clayton, Casey, Moorabbin, Monash Children's and the Victorian Heart Hospital.

Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.

  • Monash Health is looking for General Specialist, Cardiac ,Paediatric Specialist Anaesthetists and Anaesthetists holding an FPMAnaesthetists to work within Monash Health.
  • Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Monash Health.

About the Role


To support and assist the Service and Site Directors of Anaesthesia in the provision of high quality anaesthetic services across Monash health sites, consistent with Monash Health values.


  • Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care.
  • Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care.
  • Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, Monash Health.
  • Contribute to the professional and corporate life in Victoria's largest public health service by participation in appropriate committees and educational platforms.
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible anaesthetic services

What you need:


  • Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
  • For full Paediatric scope of practice recognition, a 12 month fellowship, in a recognised tertiary Paediatric hospital, is required
