About the role

The role of the Community Liaison Officer, Roadhouse Services is to provide support to the clients of the Free Food Program.

The program runs from the Griffin Centre 6 days per week.

The Community Liaison Officer has primary responsibility for the provision of information and support of clients as well as supervision to volunteers.

What you will bring

Ability to respond to incidents in a calm and considered manner.
Demonstrated experience with a diverse client group, particularly working with clients exhibiting behaviours associated with mental health challenges, AOD intoxication, trauma and disadvantage
Experience in the provision of information and/or referral services and working knowledge of services available in Canberra
Ability to lift up to 10kg following safe manual handling processes and Red Cross Policies and Procedures.
Relevant qualifications such as Certificate IV in Mental Health or Community Services and/or experience

A current unrestricted drivers licence and a Working With Vulnerable People Check are mandatory requirements for this role
