Position ObjectiveThe Centre Manager / Nominated Supervisor is accountable to Ruby and Ollies for the overall operation, management, and administration of the Beenleigh & Coomera Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services, ensuring that:
Pedagogical leadership is provided to ensure quality care and education programs for children, and direction, support and continuous learning for staff
A vibrant, interesting, varied and appropriate children's program is developed and implemented to meet the ongoing needs of the children
The philosophy, policies and procedures of the service are upheld, implemented and reviewed regularly to meet relevant requirements
The service meets the National Quality Standard
The service implements the My Time, Our Place Framework All relevant legal and statutory requirements are monitored, complied with and implemented
The staff and families of the child care centre are encouraged to contribute to the quality and success of the service
Position Criteria
Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Children's Services or relevant Degree or Early Childhood Education qualification
Special Conditions
Current Childcare Specific Senior First Aid qualification, including CPR and asthma & anaphylaxis management
Current Working with Children's Blue Card or Exemption Card
Successful completion of relevant responding to child protection training
Successful completion of Understanding Epilepsy and Administration of Emergency Medication training
Current Driver's License
Attendance at out of hours meetings, training and Service functions
The employee will receive training and development relevant to their role
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Highly developed pedagogical leadership skills
Highly developed program and curriculum planning and evaluation skills, with a sound knowledge of the My Time Our Place Framework
Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation and verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities & Duties

Pedagogical Leadership
Coordinate, supervise, direct and evaluate the activities of employees engaged in the centre
Oversee and lead staff to implement a care and education program based upon the My Time Our Place Framework
Demonstrate and share knowledge of child development and effective approaches to facilitating children's care and education programs
Plan for and facilitate the inclusion of children with additional needs, including children with disabilities, children with complex health support needs, Aboriginal children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Attainment of meeting the NQS and continuity of quality across the service
Lead discussion on reflective practice and continuous improvement
Lead and share information, knowledge and expertise on practice, policy developments and community changes that may impact on the program
Be a professional role model for high quality education and care for young children
Build the capacity of all staff by support and mentoring others to take on leadership roles in areas of expertise or of potential interest
Delivery of Quality Education & Care and Children's Programs
Supervision of the quality, development, implementation and evaluation of the programs and routines
Provision of program balance to include flexibility, variety, fun, safety, choices and support for the physical, social and emotional well-being of children
Plan for and facilitate the inclusion of children with additional needs, including children with disabilities, children with complex health support needs, Aboriginal children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Development / supervision of rosters to meet child : staff ratio requirements
Supervision of purchase, provision, preparation, storage and labelling of a variety of nutritious and appropriate foods within regulated hygiene standards
Staff Management and Leadership
Management/ coordination of recruitment, induction, performance assessment and development, and training of employees / volunteers / students as required and in consultation with the Central Office
Provision of leadership to staff, volunteers and students on placement
Facilitation of staff meetings and annual planning days
Development of staff awareness of accountability, legal liability and duty of care to children
Supervision and encouragement of employees, volunteers and students to develop strong team work skills and create a supportive team environment
Support a culture of continuous learning for all employees of the service, including selfEnsure that all employer responsibilities under awards / agreements and the National Employment Standards are adhered to
All hours are conducted in service, with a minimum of 20 hours per week being worked with the children in ratio.
Communication with FamiliesProvide written and verbal information about relevant aspects of service delivery for families and how they can become involved
Ensure that parents receive support to enhance the child care experience of their children and respond to requests for information about their children's progress
Financial Management and Administration
Prepare, monitor and review both service's annual budget and fee structure in consultation with the Central Office
Ensure all expenses are kept within budget and delegation limit and authorised accordingly
Develop and monitor appropriate financial checks and balance systems
Undertake responsibilities as directed relating to accounts, bookings, billing, financial returns, monthly income and expenditure statements and annual audit statements
Liaise with Central office for the preparation of timesheets for wages and / or relevant data, ensure payslips are provided and all employee financial records are regularly updated
Ensure all banking, reconciliation, petty cash management and debt collection is carried out regularly and as directed
Ensure timely collection from debtors, in consultation with Central Office, which includes early notification to outstanding accounts and arranging payment plans as necessary
General Administration Functions
Ensure development and effective management of employee records, including financial, workplace compliance, NDIS worker screening and Blue Card register, training and development and personal data
Ensure safe and secure storage and maintenance of records, materials, resources and equipment
Ensure regular liaison occurs with all stakeholders, all state and federal census is completed and submitted and all reports are prepared and tabled for the employer / operator at each meeting
Ensure that families receive regular written and verbal information about all relevant aspects of service delivery and how they can become involved
Develop, implement and review relevant risk management strategies in collaboration with the employer / operator
Any other duties as directed by the General Manager and Central Office
