Position Summary

The Business and Communications Group comprises four units which support the organisation by providing

Human Resource (HR), internal and external communications, website, finance, payroll, and accommodation

services.

The People and Facilities Unit (PFU) provides internal client service and support for workplace relations,

recruitment, learning and development, work health and safety, workforce reporting, staff performance,

reception, and facilities.

The People and Facilities Unit is looking for a motivated and talented individual to fill the APS4 Human

Resources Officer role. In this role, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end operational and

administrative recruitment support whilst also providing general HR support to AIHW employees.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication and

interpersonal skills, a high level of attention to detail, and a positive customer service-driven attitude. You will

judgement, and effectively manage competing priorities.

In return, you will be supported by a small close-knit team, have the opportunity to gain broader experience

across various HR functions, and work closely with team leaders on key projects.


Under general direction you will:

  • Coordinate the endtoend recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, packaging
notifying applicants of outcomes, and publishing outcomes on the APS Gazette.

  • Administer the Acendre (eRecruit) system including managing endtoend processes, from
advertising to on-boarding.

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new starters including initiating police checks and
managing probation.

  • Manage the recruitment helpdesk by responding to internal and external queries.
  • Process a range of HR requests/forms via the digital service desk.
  • Ensure records and reports are accurate and up to date.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support recruitment activities.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice and assistance to both staff and managers in relation to HR
policies, procedures, and employment conditions.

  • Perform other duties as required.
