The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is looking for a Media and External Communications Manager to join our team for a period of approximately 5 months (until 13 October 2023).

About Us
The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is an independent agency within the NSW Customer Service Cluster.


SIRA's core purpose is to make sure that NSW insurance schemes protect and support the people who need them, now and in the future.

We do this by ensuring that the workers compensation insurance, CTP green slip insurance and home building compensation insurance schemes are fair, affordable and effective for policy holders, and for people who make a claim for compensation.

This role sits within the Customer, Data and Delivery division and manages a small team of passionate communications experts. Find out more about SIRA - here.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Leading the implementation of the Agency's communications strategy using best practice methodologies to coordinate external messages and maintain communications platforms.
  • Leading and providing strategic advice and guidance on the delivery of media services for the Agency, including proactive and reactive media releases and responses, issues monitoring and management, so that objectives are articulated, implemented and reported effectively.
  • Leading and managing a team in the development, coordination and delivery of an ongoing program of targeted media to promote Agency objectives and to share findings and research.
  • Preparing, managing and reviewing the provision of highlevel stakeholder and team communications to increase awareness of organisational priorities.
  • Delivering issue and change management expertise and responding to emerging issues and change initiatives to ensure effective resolution with mínimal risk to the organisation.
  • Establishing, facilitating and maintaining strong partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to drive delivery of strategic outcomes across the organisation.
