$79,032-$86,539 pa + Superannuation + Leave Loading


Position Type:
Ongoing and Temporary-Full Time, 35 hours per week


Location:
Strawberry Hills, NSW


Mode:
Hybrid working arrangements (ability to work some days from home and some days in the office)


Your role
Professional Standards & Investigations (PSI) is the divisional unit of Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) which:

  • Receives and handles misconduct allegations against CSNSW employees;
  • Investigates misconduct allegations as required;
  • Provides training, support and guidance to staff and management regarding workplace misconduct and reporting of misconduct;
  • Assists and advises decisionmakers in relation to misconduct proceedings against employees.
The PSI are looking for some versatile and motivated paralegals to fill vacancies for up to 12 months.

The PSI is currently expanding and a talent pool will be created to fill future ongoing and temporary paralegal opportunities.


As a paralegal you will be responsible for providing support to the legal officers and Director of PSI in the general provision of efficient and effective legal services ensuring the coordination of, and collaboration between legal and project work undertaken by the PSI and the core work of the specialist practice within the PSI relating to professional misconduct.


What we re looking for

  • Be currently undertaking or have completed studies leading to a legal qualification;
  • Act with integrity, uphold and promote public sector values;
  • Have experience in providing legal, clerical and administrative support and client service;
  • Effectively manage competing priorities in a fastpaced dynamic environment;
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Work collaboratively and focus on building rapport with key stakeholders;
  • Have proficient computer literacy skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Current driver s licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role
  • Preparedness to travel to/work from a rural location as required, including travelling to correctional centres/facilities.
