Retail Test and Taggers play a key role in ensuring donated electrical items are in good working order and are safe to use as per Australian electrical safety standards.

Retail Test and Taggers are key in ensuring good quality and safe electrical items are released for sale, which ultimately contributes to an enhanced customer experience.


  • Key tasks and responsibilities
  • Team work: Assist by helping customers carry their items to the electrical item inspection area where required. Bring along your ideas, suggestions and concerns to the regular team meetings and join in on celebrations and special occasions.
Qualifications and skills (desired/required)- This role requires volunteers to have Test and Tag qualifications from a Registered Training Organisation, or Have an electrical or restricted electrical licenceCapabilities and personal attributes- Manage self: Shows personal motivation and commitment to completing work activities effectively. Act ethically and with integrity: Is reliable and trustworthy and acts consistent with TSA vision, mission and values. Below is what is required for this role.- As this role is demands a high level of safe practice and has access to potentially valuable equipment, volunteers are required to undergo a Police Check.

Development opportunities with this role

  • This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in portable appliance testing, team work, leading an area of expertise and working in a retail environment.
  • The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child related roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. _Additionally, certain volunteer roles may require a National Police Check._
