UON is currently seeking experienced and motivated Apprentice Boilermaker to join the Production team in our Malaga workshop.

Our requirements for you to be an Apprentice at UON:

  • Hold Boilermaker apprenticeships or completion of relevant pre-apprentice qualifications (essential)
  • Previous experience working as a TA. (essential)
  • Committed to a 4 year apprenticeship (essential)
  • Pass a preemployment medical and Drug & Alcohol screen (essential)
  • Must be an Australian citizen/resident and reside in the Perth Metropolitan Area due to location of positions; (essential)
  • Experience within the manufacturing industry using basic welding knowledge (preferred)
  • Hold a current and valid WA manual driver's license (preferred)
  • Forklift ticket (preferred)
  • Customer focused and company orientated (essential)

Your main responsibilities will include:


  • Work together with the Boilermakers technician in the activities such as:
  • Interpret workshop drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Installing boilers into facilities.
  • Reading blueprints for location, position, and dimensions.
  • Completing maintenance documentation.
  • Organizing and assembling boiling parts.
  • Shaping and fabricating parts.
  • Cleaning pressure vessel equipment.
  • Inspecting equipment for proper functioning
  • Shaping and fabricating
  • Heat treat metal parts and components
  • Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or computer
  • Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting
  • Cut, roll, shape, bend, mould, spin, heat or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or subassemblies
  • Operating workshop machines
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Working Hours: Mon-Fri 6AM3:00P
  • Training, uniforms, PPE, and mentoring will be provided to ensure your success
