The Role

The HR Generalist role provides a broad range of HR and WHS support to the business.

The position requires a highly effective communicator who can build trusted relationships with managers and individual contributors within ANZ, and other functional stakeholders in the global business.

The role has the potential to contribute widely to the business results and is critical in the development of our culture and in protecting our people and our business from harm.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources

Employment

  • Preparation and coordination of employment contracts and employmentrelated documentation for retail and warehouse employees
  • Coordinate induction programs to ensure they effective and implemented to the highest standard
  • Provide advice to staff and managers regarding HR Policies, procedures, guidelines and documentation
  • Maintain a reconciliation process between people system and payroll to ensure accuracy of data
Learning and Development

  • Support the team with annual development plans
  • Assist in developing programs and researching development opportunities
  • Follow up on completion of global mandated learning modules
Culture & Communication

  • Support the implementation of global programs at local level across all functions and Identify opportunities to promote culture and values within the organisation
  • Support Bi Annual Engagement Survey implementation and communication, provide guidance and follow up on action plans when required
  • Regular communication updates to the business on HR or WHS measures and progress
  • Assist in creating a recognition and rewards program and ensure regular communication
  • Advise employees on our benefits programs
  • Support execution of our cultural activity activations and events
Global HR Support

  • Actively participate with the implementation, ongoing communication and maintenance of the Workday HCM Programme
  • Act as the Workday keyuser in the region and be part of the global HR keyuser network
  • Support the Global Digital People Platform for the region
Work Health and Safety

  • Ensure we comply with national legal and Fiskars global safety requirements and rectify/report safety concerns
  • Maintain local health and safety processes management of the Workplace Safety System ensuring currency, implementation and execution
  • Promote continuous safety observation reporting and corrective action management
  • Implement key actions to reduce injuries, accidents and LTI's.
  • Coordination of WorkCover claims and return to work programs ensuring best practice
  • Keep abreast of industry and market trends and best practices
  • Continually educate and develop managers and employees on safety regulations, safety measures and implementation
  • Coordinate Safety week activities and quarterly H&S teams calls
  • Train and develop employees and managers in effective return to work practices and assist in the management of cases to return employees to work as soon as possible, and with meaningful and pragmatic return to work plans
  • Maintain confidential medical records, adhering to data privacy regulations
  • Negotiate with industry bodies to review, manage and reduce workers compensation premium and case costs
General

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources
  • Initiate improvements to programs and processes
  • Any other duties as required by the organisation on an ad hoc basis.
