About the role:


In this role you will be delivering first-class software while employing shrewd leadership techniques to groom a high-performing team and grow a fun working culture.


You will also:

  • Drive an engineering team to develop delivery goals within agreed timelines
  • Facilitate Agile Scrum practices within the team, offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements
  • Ensure the team is developing software quality inline with the broader teams' expectations and facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards
  • Grow a culture that elicits a highperforming team and a fun working environment
  • Working collaboratively with the Business Stakeholders, and Business Programme Managers and Implementation partners to ensure delivery success
  • Coordinate and manage monthly Steering Committee and other required governance meetings with senior stakeholders
  • Manage work effort and expectation across the IT GMS and their direct reports
  • Protect and enhance Coles' reputation with customers, stakeholders, regulators and media
  • Commitment to the corporate and or relevant Brand/ Retail Support Compliance Program
  • Integration of compliance requirements into team performance reviews
    About you and your skills:
  • Seasoned software engineer with at least 10 years' experience on the tools
  • At least 3 years' experience leading a team or squad of developers
  • Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments
  • Experience working in large scale projects and heavytraffic platforms
  • Deep understanding of the web topology from client to server and all components in between
  • Experienced in multiple programming languages, and seasoned in at least one objectorientated language
  • Experience in Java or.

NET

  • Experience managing relationships with senior leaders
  • Intimate knowledge of Git and code review tools
  • Proven ability to influence crossfunctional teams without formal authority
  • Familiar with SQL databases
  • Experience in a cloud environment desirable
  • Experience with containerisation & release pipelines desirable
