Your new role:


In your new role Missile Production Officer, you will be a Team Leader responsible for carrying out duties of coordinating work activities, facilitating, running maintenance meetings, controlling activities of work teams, ensuring training is available and to ensure the use of work instructions, procedures, work orders and task lines for operational and deeper level maintenance on Nulka Electronic Decoy Cartridge (EDC) and rocket Propulsion Unit (PU).


Key responsibilities will be:


  • Controlling activities of a team of Missile Technicians undertaking Explosive Ordnance (EO) related activities including Nulka EDC Production and Maintenance tasks
  • Ensure the use of work instructions, procedures, work orders and task lines for operational and deeper level maintenance on Nulka EDC and sub components in compliance with the relevant policies and regulations
  • Assist Project Managers and Site Leader with the development of achievable schedules for planned, corrective and Adhoc activities
  • Primary site contact in the absence of the Site Leader
  • Ensure that tooling/equipment resources are adequate to meet required needs and that tooling/equipment is maintained in a serviceable, calibrated state so as to be available to support planned maintenance activities
  • Use and oversee the use of the Maximo Computerised Maintenance Management System by Production and Maintenance Team
  • Report to the Site Leader on matters concerning safety, staff, quality, security, schedule, technical enquires and schedule progress.
  • Conducting reviews of work completed by Missile Technicians and others prior to authorising for release to the Project Quality Authority for sell off

About you:


As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Engineering / Technician background with relevant experience in coordinating planned production and maintenance activities
  • Experience in Explosives Ordnance, Defence Weapons Platform maintenance or other maintenance field desirable
  • Experience leading a small team
  • Advanced trade qualification or engineering diploma (preferred)
  • Must be eligible for an Australian Defence Security Clearance
  • Experience in Defence or a Defence Industry desirable
