About the team


The Direct Business Banking team is a newly created team and a key part of our Business Banking growth strategy.

We are dedicated to helping micro-business customers to grow their businesses and we work with our distribution partners in branches, digital and consumer connection as well as our partners in operations and commercial credit risk to support our existing customers and to attract new customers to our Business Banking proposition.


The role


As the
Business Direct Manager you are responsible for the retention and growth of our Direct Business portfolio of customers: predominantly managing business customers with lending needs below $500K.

Interacting with your customers virtually you will ensuring our micro-business customers receive the right solutions to meet their needs.


A key part of your role is to explore leads for new business opportunities (virtually) and maintain exemplary customer service delivery for the existing portfolio of customers.

Your success is impacted by your ability to deepen existing customer relationships through understanding our customer needs and providing customer service excellence.

You are responsible for developing and delivering win-win solutions that meet the customer's needs, objectives and interests and the Bank's growth target and risk appetite.

Multiple full-time, permanent positions available as we build out this new team.

Ideally, you will be located in one of our Direct Banking hubs in Brisbane, Bendigo or Melbourne for the days that you're in the office, noting that hybrid ways of working are core to how we operate today.


About you
Some of the key capabilities and experience which will set you up for success in this role includes:

  • Demonstrated record of service excellence
  • Lending experience and proven sales performance, ideally in the small business segment
  • Market knowledge relating to micro and small businesses
  • Financial analysis skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret financial statements and ideally also experience in credit analysis and small business lending
  • Deep understanding of the Bank's policies, procedures, products and services
