Embrace Care is a private family operated Disability Support Care business that is seeking Assistant Nurses, Support Workers, Personal Care Assistants in the Parramatta, Blacktown, Chatswood, Minto, Liverpool & Leppington area to assist and care for NDIS participants in the comfort of their homes.
About you:
- Ideally you have experience in supporting participants
- You must enjoy getting to know people.
- You have a good understanding of the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically diverse young people and families
- Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills.
- A 'cando attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
- You are punctual and reliable.
- You can think independently and outside the box to resolve problems.
- You can take direction to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Experience providing Individualized support and personal care to participants with complex health needs including manual handling, PEG feeding, and pressure area care
- Experience supporting participants who have a mild to complex psychosocial (mental health) or intellectual disability and behaviours of concern.
- Ability to work on a rotating roster.
- Have rights to work in Australia with no restrictions on hours
- Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Hold current police check certificate (or be prepared to get one)
- A current First Aid Certificate (or be prepared to get one)
- Hold a current driver's license and your own fully registered & insured vehicle
- Working With Children's Check
- Certificate III in Disability Support or relevant qualification
- Experience in personal care assistance or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A caring and empathetic nature
