Description
We are seeking a driven Financial Analyst to come join us at Swinburne University.

The core purpose of the Financial Analyst is to work closely with the Finance Business Partner Innovation & Enterprise (I&E) and Vocational Education & Training (VET), as well as senior managers and their teams, to help improve the understanding of business performance and enhance the quality of financial and commercial decisions.


You will be responsible for providing insightful financial analysis and business case modelling to help drive commercial decision making as portfolios enter a dynamic growth phase, while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, accounting standards and the University's policies and procedures.


As a natural collaborator you will also build credible stakeholder relationships, provide regular financial reporting as well as develop budgets and forecasts.


About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills and ability to interpret financial data
  • Proven ability to work with large data sets from multiple sources
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proven experience reconciling financial data back to source systems and troubleshooting issues as they occur
  • Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to plan and organise conflicting workload priorities, adhere to deadlines and work effectively under pressure

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting or similar discipline, with subsequent relevant experience
  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAANZ) or CPA Australia (CPA), or studying towards completion
