About the role

  • This NEW role is primarily responsible for analysing and managing corporate debt facilities (loans and bonds) for Cbus' domestic direct lending strategy.
  • Requiring a passion for credit research and financial modelling this role will be responsible for assessing the viability of transactions and preparing detailed credit assessment papers for presentation to Cbus' debt committee in relation to those opportunities.
  • Gain exposure to a wide range of credit opportunities including corporate debt (investment grade and high yield including leveraged loans), property construction debt, structured debt facilities and other bespoke opportunities.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Investments team.

Working in a small team and reporting to the Head of Direct Debt & Illiquid Credit, the role will be involved in managing investments within an existing portfolio of approximately $1B, whilst also analysing new investment opportunities for the portfolio.

You will enjoy undertaking detailed credit analysis and be dedicated to writing high quality credit papers.

Having a high attention to detail you will also have experience in reviewing and negotiating documentation; settlement of loans and other credit instruments; and will take responsibility for monitoring and relationship management of transactions.

You will also undertake credit analysis of global financial institutions to support Cbus' counterparty trading exposure.


This role requires the combination of strong credit research and modelling experience, ideally from a corporate banking, rating agency or funds management environment, with very good communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders including borrowers and other market participants at a senior level.
