About the Opportunity

Applications are sought for a 0.2 FTE 1 Staff Specialist in dermatology to provide a dermatology outpatients service at The Liverpool Hospital Melanoma Unit.

This position will involve outpatient clinics focusing on melanoma diagnosis and screening, cutaneous surgery, involvement with clinical trials as well as managing cutaneous adverse effects of melanoma oncological therapies.

The staff specialist will be required to attend the MDT meetings with surgery, radiation oncology and medical oncology.
Training and/or experience with confocal microscopy is desirable.

A shared on call roster with other staff specialists for afterhours general dermatology cover will be part of the job.

The position can be shared between 2 or more applicants.
The job hire will become available to start in Early February 2023.

What you'll be doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care.

This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  • Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing selfeducation and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level
  • Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD oncall roster
  • Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team
