By joining the BB team as one of our Food Services Assistant Workers, you will be part of a team that will ensure that you will be welcomed into a positive and supportive environment, passionate about delivering a safe, person-centred and connected patient experience.


The successful applicants will be part of a dynamic team contributing to effectively producing and delivering meals to the Patients.


Working as part of the Food Services Team, the Food Services Assistant is responsible for duties assigned in preparing, regeneration, plating, delivering and collecting meals throughout the day.

It also includes providing outstanding customer service and washing and sanitising items in kitchen areas and equipment.


Responsibilities include; (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in the preparation of meals
  • Accurately assembling tray supplies and food on the tray line
  • Clean Kitchen and equipment
  • Deliver, distribute and collect all meal requirements
  • Strip, sort, sanitise and clean all trays, cutlery and utensils
  • Completing all food safety documentation promptly

What you bring:


  • Previous experience, preferably within healthcare
  • Experience in the delivery of Food Services, including an ability to negotiate favourable outcomes for patients
  • A clear understanding of food safety guidelines
  • A competent level of verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

On a Personal Level, you will need the following:

  • A proactive "Can-Do" approach to your work and an ability to prioritise tasks
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service in a healthcare or hospitality environment
  • An interest in working with and caring for people

What you need:


  • Current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Level 1 (_Essential_)
  • Qualification relevant to Health HLTFS207C
  • Follow primary food safety practice
  • Comprehensive understanding of diet codes, texturemodified foods and fluids, food allergies and intolerances
  • Ability to undertake physical work, including lifting, carrying and manual handling
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
and friendly approach to all patients and visitors.
