Looking to take the next step in your career? Reporting to the Hatch Global Counsel in Canada, the Assistant Company Secretary will be responsible for a range of duties supporting legal and corporate secretarial matters for approximately 20 companies across Australia and Asia.

  • Oversee all aspects of subsidiary management for the Hatch group in Australia-Asia to ensure compliance with statutory and reporting obligations, including coordinating and drafting agendas and minutes for subsidiary meetings as required
  • Draft Board resolutions
  • Maintain statutory books, including registers of members and Directors
  • Attend to regulatory filings with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
  • Attend to
    corporate compliance of Hatch operating entity in Australia, including drafting policies to meet legislated requirements
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment
  • Manage the Australian employee share register
  • Coordinate the completion of corporate mergers and acquisitions in Australia
  • Support the regional commercial, contracts and corporate legal services team with such duties as payment of invoices, reconciliation of expenses, file management (both electronic and hard copy), drafting correspondence, travel arrangements, meeting coordination

You bring to the role:


You will have company secretarial experience, or experience in corporations' law, ideally combined with experience supporting Boards and committees (including minute writing and agenda management).

You have a sound understanding of legislation/regulations relevant to corporate governance and compliance in Australia that ideally will extend to Asia as well.

You have a high level of integrity and discretion and possess strong attention to detail.

You take a methodical, organized approach to your work and your ability to communicate with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence will set you apart.
