About The Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist to join the team in Plastic Surgery.


Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area.

It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.


The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment.

The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.


Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.


How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  • Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
  • Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice and high level of experience in complex Head & Neck oncology and reconstruction within at least 1 year of fellowship in this area.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
  • Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff and Experience and/ or training in leadership and management skills to assist HOD in administrative matters.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing selfeducation and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development. Quality publication and presentation in Plastic Surgery especially for microsurgery and skin cancers.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level
  • Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD oncall roster
  • Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
