Launch Housing has an exciting leadership opportunity at Sumner House which facilitates both the COVID Isolation & Recovery Facility (CIRF) and the Better Health and Housing Program (BHHP) in partnership with St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and The Brotherhood of St Laurence.


We are looking for someone to lead our committed, caring and dynamic team in the Program Manager role until 29 September 2023.

The BHHP is a new residential-based integrated health and homelessness service for people who are experiencing chronic homelessness and poor health, the program aims to break the cycle of chronic homelessness and poor health for BHHP residents.


What you'll be doing*Reporting to the Group Manager - Crisis Accommodation, you will lead housing support services including case management and transitional support.

These services currently include temporary accommodation for CIRF residents, and the beds in the BHHP short stay model for people exiting the healthcare system; and BHHP long-term accommodation support with average length of stay between 12 and 26 weeks.


Whilst no two days are the same, you will:

Work in collaboration with St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne and Brotherhood of St Laurence to ensure high-quality and timely services on-site and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents

  • Provide active leadership and guidance for Coordinators, and oversee the activities of all Sumner' staff to ensure the provision of consistent and highquality services for the CIFR and BHHP
  • Oversee the provision of highquality intensive and flexible support, a safe and supportive environment for residents, and work collaboratively with project partners to ensure a seamless pathways and effective solutions
  • Manage all critical incidents and other risks that arise at the facility in accordance with program and Launch Housing policies and DFFH requirements
  • Support a culture and program of continuous improvement, provide direction to ensure the and support a highperformance culture focused on client outcomes and impact, and the wellbeing of staff
What we're looking for*Key selection criteria*Substantial experience in a client-facing human services, social work or other relevant industry

  • Demonstrable skills and experience in working collaboratively with other agencies especially in providing shared services to vulnerable clients
  • Program or service coordination/management experience within the community and/or public sectors
  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Leadership approach (desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of highquality initial assessment, planning and prioritization programs
  • Sound people leadership skills, experience in managing staff and striving for consistency in performance and behaviour
