About the Role:


We have an exciting opportunity for two talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our admired organisation on a casual basis.

These roles will see you work across the state for approx. 5-15 hours a week, mostly weeknights with the occasional weekend.

As Health Services Officer you will undertake the delivery of CFA's health programs to members within CFA.

Critical functions will be to promote health, wellness and fitness through the implementation of health assessments, fitness testing, general exercise prescription, functional screening, injury prevention programs and group educational sessions on relevant health topics at a variety of locations throughout Victoria.


Other tasks will include the provision of information, instruction and counselling to assist firefighters in achieving optimal health and physical conditioning and providing administrative support for various Health Services programs as required.


Further detailed responsibilities include:

  • Travel to various urban and regional parts of Victoria
  • Assisting with the design, implementation and evaluation of general and firefighterspecific health and fitness programs to raise fitness levels, improve operational readiness and minimise health related disease
  • Delivering health and fitness assessments, workshops, seminars, exercise classes and various health and injury prevention services to members
  • Providing members with individualised assessment result analysis
  • Utilising strong communication and mentoring skills to assist individuals in making positive health and lifestyle changes
  • Mentoring, motivating and inspiring members to set and achieve health and/or fitness goals
  • Delivering engaging health and fitness information sessions to individuals and large work groups

About You:


To succeed in this key role, tertiary qualifications in Exercise Science, Health Science or Allied Health are a clear preference and you must possess a minimum level of Certificate III & IV in Health & Fitness.

You should also hold a Level 2 First Aid accreditation.

Experience in a similar or related role will be highly regarded.

You will have proven ability to safely and effectively communicate and implement health and fitness programs and the ability to work independently, with mínimal supervision.

You will have demonstrated ability to identify sensitive and confidential issues and respond accordingly and well-developed communication skills.
