Who we are

MechanicDesk is a cloud based (SAAS) automotive/mechanical workshop management system that have been helping Australian, New Zealand and those around the world run their businesses for almost ten year.

MechanicDesk helps the workshops manage their daily operations such as booking, job, scheduling, inventory management, customer management, vehicle management, invoicing, booking and service reminders and many more. We are proud not only of the product we built, but also the quality of our day to day customer service.

Running by a small talented team. We are looking for a enthusiastic DevOps who are well versed in both Software Development and Operation to help develop/maintain our product and our infrastructure.

The Role

The DevOps Engineer oversee both development and operation responsibilities(50/50). You will be in charge of building the software as well as monitoring, maintaining and improving its running infrastructure.

you will be working as part of a small team who is responsible for both product development and operation, ensuring our infrastructure and tooling are an enabler for the MechanicDesk team to deliver safe, scalable software and a fantastic experience for our customers.

You will be someone who is passionate about technologies, have great attention to details and well organised.

What you will do day-to-day:

Develop our products, which include multiple components written mainly in Ruby on Rails, Javascript and ) and Flutter (Mobile).
Build tooling and work to improve the capabilities of the team generally in deployment automation
Assist with the release process.
Monitor infrastructure and application performance in production and work to optimise performance, and strengthen security.
Carry out weekly application and infrastructure performance/security review.
Contribute operational expertise to the product development process.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

At least 3 years experience with Ruby on Rails
At least 3 years experience working on Linux/Unix, MacOSX environment
Working knowledge of ,
Working knowledge of Flutter (Mobile development) is an advantage
Familiar with Amazon AWS products and environment.
Passionate about designing and operating highly available systems in AWS environments for robustness and automation.
Hands-on experience designing and managing AWS infrastructure in a high-availability and automated environment
Experience building secure solutions and architecture
Strong focus on security
Hands-on experience with release processes and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with Container
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
