About the Role

  • Assist and conduct surgical operating sessions at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
  • Attend and participate in Surgical Outpatient Clinics at Princess Alexandra Hospital including the combined Upper Gastrointestinal Multidisciplinary Clinic.
  • Assist with the supervision of Part 2 Surgical Training Registrars in addition to Surgical Interns in the Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
  • Participate in the shared arrangement of after hours on call for both General Surgery and Trauma Surgery within the unit.
  • To be available to assist with any problems which might arise within the Upper GI & Soft Tissue Unit, at Princess Alexandra Hospital where the Fellow's advice and surgical skills may be required both on week days and after hours.
  • To provide private surgical assisting for operating lists conducted at the Greenslopes Private Hospital and Mater Hospital as required.
  • Follow hospital practices and demonstrate initiative aligned to ensuring the safest possible environment for patients and staff.
