About the Department of Education
The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population.
The Demountable Coordination Unit manages the maintenance, refurbishment, storage and relocation of demountable accommodation.
The unit coordinates the critical Day 1, Term 1 installation program to meet the needs of NSW schools and provides temporary accommodation in response to natural disasters.
About the role
In your new role you will be managing a team of 7 in the delivery of quality demountable accommodation.
You will be responsible for ensuring the emergent accommodation of school needs are met, delivered on time and within budget.
This role will also have you manage construction contracts, refurbishment, decommissioning and transport of demountable accommodation.Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in project management and/or contract management.
- Driver's licence
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
About you
We are seeking an experienced program manager to join our Demountable Unit.
To be successful in this role, you will have solid experience in successfully managing and implementing a program of works.
You possess strong attention to detail that will oversee the coordination of projects and enjoy working to tight timeframes.You enjoy building strategic relationships with stakeholders to manage construction contracts, service agreements and coordinate review committees to collate submissions for schools to drive delivery of accommodation needs with the schools the forefront.
