  • Parttime (0.4 FTE) fixed term contract until 28 February 2026 based in Allied Health and Human Performance at the City East Campus
  • Salary range: $73,341 $86,642 pro rata (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role


The Research Project Officer will provide high level project work, including communications and recruitment of participants, administrative coordination and clinical data collection on the following projects titled "Living your best day - optimising activity and diet compositions for dementia prevention" and a new research grant, titled "Small Steps Towards Dementia Prevention," funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council and the Medical Research Future Fund respectively.

The position will also provide key support in areas such as reporting, stakeholder engagement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Under the general direction and routine supervision of the chief investigator independently and proactively contribute to the research activities related to the ongoing NHMRC/MRFF funded projects
  • Contribute to a range of project activities related to the NHMRC/MRFF funded projects
  • Independently conduct data collection activities using developed and specialist expertise involving activities
  • Undertake data processing, data entry and ensure data is backed up and stored safely

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and demonstrated highlevel experience in human research projects including clinical trials
  • Highlevel project coordination experience, including demonstrated ability to monitor multiple projects with a high degree of autonomy
  • Project management experience including project budget management and the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities under broad direction
  • Demonstrated experience and training in the collection and storing of specimens and data relating to human research projects
  • High level organisational skills and experience in setting up new projects, including developing ethics approvals, setting up of databases
