We currently have a rewarding opportunity to join us as an Operations Resource Lead within our Maritime Australia line of business with our team based at Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide.

You will be supporting our Operations Resource Manager in providing resource level assurance across the Operations Function by undertaking accurate collation, analysis and reporting of operations resource levels against requirements, and supporting ongoing development of the Resource Management Framework.

Your new role:


Using your skills gained from previously working in a supporting role in a project environment, you will be providing support to the Operations function with activities and services to meet business needs.

This role reports into our Operations Resource Manager who is responsible for overseeing the overall resource management of the Maritime business unit.

More specifically, you will

  • Liaise with Trade managers and relevant Control Account Managers (CAMS) to accurately track the current deployed Operations workforce levels across Osborne Shipyard
  • Perform analysis of upcoming near term planned work volumes against current workforce levels and recruiting in support of the quarterly look ahead (QLA) resourcing strategy
  • Develop and represent the Operations Resource Management report pack in support of the weekly Operations QLA process
  • Generate and deliver regular Operations Resource Reports in accordance with the Resource Management Framework (RMF) reporting plan
  • Attend and participate in all Operations management resourcing meetings as required
  • Liaise with the Operations Resource Capability and Performance teams as required to ensure data alignment and identify risks, issues and opportunities with respect to Operations Resource Levels
  • Support the Operations Resource Manager in development and continual improvement of the Resource Management Framework (RMF), including:
  • Continual refinement of RMF reporting processes and templates and deliverables
  • Development and maturity of the RMF data repositories and interfaces with relevant corporate systems
  • Support the development of the HCFP resourcing data within the Principal toolbox system
  • Provide support as directed in undertaking strategic resource scenario development and analysis
  • Other duties as required.
About you


As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in generation of complex graphical project data using MS Excel or similar
  • An understanding of Project Management principles including Planning, Scheduling and EVM
  • Experience in handling and manipulation of large and/or complex data sets across multiple corporate systems
  • Understanding of resource management as applied within Defence programs or a similar environment
  • Proven experience in generation and delivery of reports in a complex project environment
  • Experience in stakeholder and customer engagement in a project environment
  • Team orientation with a high level of written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate with the Customer and staff at all levels and from a range of disciplines
  • Demonstrated selfmotivation and a proactive approach to progressing all assigned tasks.
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, especially in Word, and PowerPoint and Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Baseline security clearance desirable
