This newly created position is responsible for leading the Maintenance Business Lines across the Edinburgh site for Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP).

The opportunity

As the Manager Edinburgh Maintenance, you will work closely with a large and inclusive team of technical experts focused on success.

Edinburgh Maintenance is executed as a part of the RAAF Defence Aviation Safety Regulation (DASR) Part 14- Maintenance Organisations at 10 and 11 SQN.

The Manager Edinburgh Maintenance is also responsible for the management and coordination of both the AAP maintenance personnel and the ISR Enterprise common services employed under the respective 10 and 11 SQN's contracts.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Maintenance, but responsive to the 10 and 11SQN Responsible Managers for both DASR Part 145 and Part M Regulatory Compliance, you will lead a team of planners/coordinators, maintainers, maintenance support staff to execute maintenance functions assigned to you through the Fleet Plans and other agreed Program Work Authorities; primarily Base Maintenance including off-aircraft maintenance.

The skills and experience suited to this role:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Aeroskills, or Diploma of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electronics, Software, Mechanical or Mechatronics (Australian accredited); or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum 10 years' technical or maintenance management experience in the aviation industry including 35 years' experience managing a maintenance operation holding service delivery budget, financial reporting and control responsibility
  • Knowledge of operational excellence, LEAN practices, managing a serviceoriented organisation, and delivering on service targets
  • Detailed knowledge of all facets of maintenance management, including maintenance management systems, planning, equipment and parts management, and maintenance delivery types (base/deeper/operational/flight line/component etc.)

  • Strong leadership skills, including a proven ability to build, motivate and lead an innovative, high performing team and positive culture; underpinned by a high degree of personal and professional integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build longlasting, collaborative relationships with peers and interdependent functions; and manage conflicting priorities in a matrix organisation
  • Ability to manage a multidiscipline function; and achieve cost targets, with pragmatic, timely, bestforbusiness decisions
  • Strong customerservice mindset and stakeholder management skills and ability to work constructively / productively with customers
  • Ability to clear roadblocks to empower and enable the team to deliver on their accountabilities and be a voice for the maintenance team for the site
