The role


Our Dispute Resolution & Litigation team are currently looking for a smart, dedicated Law Clerk to join the team, reporting to Nick Burkett.

This role offers an enormous amount of opportunity and variety.

You'll work closely with Nick and his Senior Associate, Holly on a daily basis - gaining exposure to a variety of complex matters, and receiving plenty of mentoring along the way.


About you


We're looking for people who have a passion for litigation and ideally have had some exposure to dispute resolution and/or litigation work.


You'll be available to work 2 to 3 days per week, have a GPA of 5.3 or higher and be in the second half of your degree.


Our Clerk Program


Rather than a short-lived summer clerkship, our 12-18 month clerk program means you will be able to immerse yourself in real legal work as a member of our national team.

You'll get the opportunity to build lasting professional relationships with lawyers and partners who are recognised as leading experts in their area of expertise.


The team and the work


Nick's practice encompasses a broad range of litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes across various state and federal courts and tribunals.

He assists clients with commercial, contract, trust, property, and insolvency matters.

He has long standing experience in the insurance field and frequently acts on behalf of clients in relation to indemnity issues (including the wrongful declining of indemnity), policy coverage, insurance contract reviews and general insurance advice.

An important part of the practice is also acting in health regulatory matters.


Nick is our Brisbane Head of Office and is frequently briefed by other members of the legal profession to act on their behalf in various capacities.
