This is an exciting opportunity for an Education Placement Coordinator to join our Academic Operations Unit.


The Education Placement Coordinator is responsible for providing expert administrative support to the Department of Education in relation to all aspects of teacher education placements.

This includes placing students in education facilities, responding to student placement related requests, liaising with the relevant school leaders and academic staff.


This role is expected to foster positive relationships with education settings to facilitate students undertaking Professional Experience as part of their degree.


About You

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Identify and liaise with relevant professionals in education settings (early childhood, primary and secondary) to assist in the development of new placements.
  • Ensure all placement documentation is completed for all placements
  • Communicate with students regarding compliance requirements and placement information
  • Obtain from students all preplacement compliance documentation (WWCC)
  • Communicate with placement facilities about plans for student placements (dates, student numbers, etc.)
  • Coordinate placement and liaise with placement providers regarding student and supervisor details and resolve issues as they arise
  • Record information on agreements developed with schools and sites including key contacts, placement arrangements, staff supervision etc.

Qualifications

  • A degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience in similar administrative fields; or equivalent combination or relevant experience and/or education/training
