The role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and strong performing Leading Hand to coordinate our workshop team based in Pooraka.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out trade duties, repairs and fault diagnosis work as required on Sandvik mining equipment.

Areas of responsibility

  • Assist in conducting daily resource planning to contribute to the smooth and effective running of each shift in line with KPI's, business requirements and operational needs
  • Evaluate the quality of work of the team to ensure efficiency and equipment integrity
  • Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity
  • Assist Supervisor to mentor, motivate, train & evaluate and when required, performance manage team members to accomplish their goals and objectives as well as meeting the business needs
  • Support and conduct team meetings and communications as directed
  • Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records.
Your Profile

Essential

  • Previous leadership experience, preferably as a Leading Hand or equivalent
  • Mechanical background and relevant certification
  • C Class Manual Driver Licence
  • Previous experience maintaining mobile mining equipment
  • Proactive, selfmotivated and demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to think outside the box and find solutions
  • Strong and proven safety culture
  • Strong customer service focus and motivation to achieve targets and goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid computer literacy
