Description

Purpose of the Role:


  • Providing legal advice and strategy relating to contract administration, claims and dispute management. The role will also include contract drafting, legal research and advising on legal aspects of project delivery, liability and legal compliance.

Qualifications:


  • Tertiary qualifications in law and eligibility to hold a practising certificate in NSW (preferred) or previous experience in a receptionist and or legal office.
  • White Card (can be obtained prior to commencement)

Experience:


  • Minimum 12 years' experience working customer focused, administrative or problem solving role
  • Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works is desirable

  • Undertake objective, critical analysis to draw accurate conclusions that recognise and manage contextual issues

  • Take account of the wider business/commercial context when considering options to resolve issues
  • Strong data management, analytical, interpersonal and organisational skills

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:


  • Assist the Project Legal Counsel with legal related tasks
  • Assist with reviewing procurement contracts and correspondences
  • Handling office tasks and administrative duties, i.e. photocopying and scanning
  • Working collaboratively with all stakeholders, providing support on relevant contract administration matters
  • Assist with any disputes or SOPA claims with subcontractor or the Client
  • File Management
  • Assist the Project Legal Counsel in the preparation of notices and formal contract documentation
  • Maintain a bank guarantee register
  • Assist the Project Legal Counsel with organising and preparing for internal training sessions
  • Prepare overview and quick reference guides to upstream and downstream contract terms
