POSITION OVERVIEW:


Acute Allied Health Services (AAHS) Physiotherapy provide services to a range of clients in acute inpatient and specialised outpatient settings.

The Physiotherapy Team Leader for Women and Children leads a team of physiotherapists and support staff working in Gynaecology, Obstetric, Paediatric and Neonatology clinical services.

The physiotherapy team leader manages and prioritises their own caseload and that of HP1-3s, AHA, and ASO3 and provides support and supervision to staff working in the team.

The team leader will carry approximately a 50/50 clinical or operational/non-clinical caseload.

The Women and Children Physiotherapy team leader will require clinical expertise and undertake a physiotherapy clinical caseload in one or more of these areas - Gynaecology, Obstetric, Paediatrics and/or Neonatology.


The HP4 team leader role requires a very experienced health professional able to exercise independent judgement based on extensive and highly developed knowledge, skills and expertise in their discrete area of practice as well as across the Women and Children Physiotherapy team.


DUTIES:

Under limited direction of the AAHS Physiotherapy Manager, you will:

  • Provide physiotherapy leadership and clinical expertise and interventions across a range of service areas.
  • Provide clinical support, supervision and education to staff and students within the team and support teaching and training activity across professions and programs.
  • Contribute to planning, implementation and/or redesign of clinical services including the allocation of resources to support organisational priorities.
  • Supports the Manager by contributing effectively to Senior Physiotherapy Leadership team and being responsible and accountable for designated portfolio responsibilities.
  • Provide clinical and professional advice across a range of clinical areas relevant to discipline or specialty, or complex, novel or critical work at a high level of expertise.
  • Initiate and facilitate clinical governance within a team, including quality improvement activity and/or research and compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Participate in supervision, credentialing, continuing professional development and performance management.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:


Mandatory
Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) and a minimum of five years' experience working professionally in Physiotherapy.

Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

The successful applicant will need to be for weekend and after-hours work.

Computer literacy skills are required which are relevant to this role as you will be responsible for completing required documentation and becoming a proficient user of the Digital Health Record and/or other Information Technology systems; once proficient, you will need to remain current with changes, updates and contingencies.
