The Position Purpose:

ROLE CAN BE BASED IN BRISBANE, SYDNEY, MELBOURNE OR ADELAIDE.


To provide both operational and strategic procurement support across WSP Australia, through leadership of our Procurement Operations team, providing expert procurement advice to stakeholders across the Procurement Process and supporting the development of the Procurement function.


What you will do:

  • Support the Head of Procurement in implementing the Procurement function strategy and framework in line with overall business performance goals
  • Lead the procurement operations team, with both onshore and offshore resources, including the ability to delegate tasks, provide mentoring, guidance, and training
  • Manage and administer our Procurement Helpdesk, supporting stakeholders with queries regarding Procure to Pay(P2P), vendor onboarding, travel, fleet, and Credit Cards etc
  • Oversee Travel operations for Australia in collaboration with our Travel Management Company (TMC) and onshore/offshore procurement team
  • Ability to work autonomously to select and engage key suppliers on behalf of our stakeholders
  • Ability to provide advisory support and expert advice to the business across Procurement policy, process and systems
  • Strong ability to analyse, interpret and present data that informs procurement strategies and decisions
  • Able to draft and present strategies and reports to senior business stakeholders
  • Good awareness of the procurement marketplace including system and tools
  • Actively seeks opportunities for process improvements
  • Supports and fosters an environment that promotes and encourages innovation within the Procurement function and across the organisation

What we will love about you:

  • Relevant Procurement qualifications and/or industry experience as required
  • Extensive experience in Procurement
  • Experienced with category management principles and practices
  • Good understanding and experience with P2P processes and relevant good practices
  • Demonstrated experience with the travel category in a corporate environment and working with TMC's
  • Management experience (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of procurement concepts, processes, activities and trends
  • Analytical interpretation and problemsolving skills
  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills
  • Analytical and strategic mindset with the ability to influence change within the organisation
  • Self-Starter ability to spot what tasks need to be completed without prompting
  • Good attention to detail and works well under pressure
  • Leadership skills
