The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make it easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses to interact with government.

We're working to connect and digitise our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.

Shared Service Provider

The Shared Service Provider (SSP) is a team within DGS that delivers property, carpool and library services to clients across the Victorian Government, including Victorian Government departments and a range of agencies.

SSP strives to be a shared service provider of choice, achieving value for the Victorian Public Sector (VPS) by delivering strategic, client focused services.

The Procurement and Contracts (PCM) team resides in SSP. It provides support and advice on contract governance and terms and is a point of escalation. The team works with SSP work streams to ensure timely procurement in compliance with all government and department guidelines.

The team is relied upon by SSP to support the smooth procurement and contract management of the business and maintain all workflows, records, documents, to ensure best practice management.

About the role
Please note this is a 12-month fixed term opportunity.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for providing oversight and support for contract management across SSP, comprising of real estate and facilities management, including advice regarding the operational and commercial aspects of the contract.


In the role, your main responsibilities will include:
- providing supportive leadership and motivations to the Support Officers for the delivery of quality and timely outputs
- monitor internal contract management systems and processes and ensure compliance is achieved across the organisation
- contribute to the identification and implementations of solutions to complex problems or issues
- provide timely responses and high-quality service to external service providers, clients departments, agencies and key stakeholders
- build and maintain constructive relationships with senior leaders within SSP, working with them to advise and deliver on their contract management needs effectively.

About you

You are a confident communicator who can seamlessly translate strategic objectives into deliverables with the capability to influence stakeholders and provide high level support at varying levels of seniority.

To be considered for the role, you must be able to demonstrate:

- experience in procurement and master supplier contract management, including proven ability to interpret and provide advice to colleagues based on an understanding of complex contract documents and legislative requirements
- your ability to influence and resolve commercial issues through negotiations with multiple stakeholders, in order to achieve improved outcomes
- experience in the implementation and management of contract management frameworks
- demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence colleagues and implement changes which enhance SSP's contract management activities
- excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work productively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, and/or significant experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.

Experience in property (including Real Estate, Facilities Management, and projects) contract management or in shared service provision or government would be an advantage.
