Position Information:

Dawson Public School is located in Western Sydney and has an enrolment of 339 students. This includes 283 K-6 students and 56 preschool students.

Our school community is culturally diverse with 48% of students having non-English speaking background, 33% require some level of EAL/D (English an additional language or dialect) support and 15% of students identify as having an Aboriginal background.

The school culture is focused around creating a safe, inclusive, collaborative environment to empower learning and relationships.

We have identified the need to embed evidenced based practice to underpin and strengthen collaborative practice to enhance curriculum knowledge and differentiated pedagogical practices to cater for the diverse needs of all students.

Targeted professional learning in reading and numeracy and active engagement in professional learning communities are key to improving student outcomes.


Selection Criteria:


  • Approval to teach infants and primary K-6 with demonstrated capacity to provide engaging and challenging differentiated lessons.
  • Exemplary classroom management and well-being practices to develop a positive, inclusive classroom.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated capacity to work as part of a collaborative team to build authentic relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
