Job Description:


As a Warehouse Operations Supervisor at our largest MHF site in ANZ, you will be based in Laverton, VIC and play a crucial role in supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager by optimizing the operations efficiency, through effective utilization of equipment and resources.


With 3 direct reports and 24 indirect reports, your leadership skills are absolutely paramount to the successful, safe and seamless running of daily shifts across 8 sheds.

You will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day planning and undertaking of work requirements is effective on both AM/PM shifts and maintain accountability for production and safety with operatives.

You will bring your leadership and logistics skills together to forge proactive working relationships with all operatives, keeping safety and your customer at the forefront of everything you and your team do.


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensuring freight is delivered accurately on time and in accordance with customers' requirements.
  • Accountability for the forward planning and scheduling of RDOs / annual leave for shifts.
  • Maintaining a high standard of morale for forklift drivers and operations personnel by ensuring a harmonious and safe environment.
  • Train staff in local procedures and in the use of handling equipment and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Ensuring the workplace is safe and free from hazards and that all activities comply with State and Federal legislation, Occupational Health & Safety, Dangerous Goods Policies, Environmental and Company procedures and policies.
  • Identify and implement anew processes to enable your staff to meet and exceed key performance indicators.

Qualifications:


Technical:


  • Prior experience in a large warehouse supervisory role
  • Thorough understanding of WHS and safety related policies and procedures.
  • Dangerous Goods awareness would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Solid understanding of Site Safety Rules
  • Computer, numeracy and literacy skills

Business

  • Identification and remedy of operational inefficiencies and service problems
  • Understanding of freight handling processes and their operational requirements
  • Ability to determine labour and equipment to meet scheduled workloads
  • Proven problem solving ability with a solutions orientation
  • Display a thorough understanding of incident and accident reporting
  • Ability to recognise and control costs

Human Relations

  • Excellent and effective people leadership capability
  • Maintain excellent relationships with management and coworkers in different teams

Secondary:


  • Tertiary/T.A.F.E.
  • Licenses: Car License
