$74,082 - $86,240 p.a. plus 10.5% Super

About the role

This is a
5-month,
fixed term, full-time position working
35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm) and will be based at
the Nowra Administration Building.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.


Duties
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager - District Engineer - North, the focus of this position is to:

  • Provide effective site representation as Council Officer across a range of projects to assist in the delivery of quality works and services.
  • Assist the District team in the delivery of small projects including the direct management of contract works.
  • Assist in the delivery of projects through undertaking routine monitoring of technical, quality, environment and work health and safety compliance.
  • Surveillance of works on behalf of the Project Engineer and take appropriate action to ensure conformance by the contractor with contract specifications.
  • Ensure applicable Legislative requirements onsite are fulfilled by Contractors undertaking works for Council.

Skills & Experience
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

  • Certificate IV in Construction, Project Management, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience in the construction industry
  • Demonstrated experience in a range of construction and/or maintenance delivery functions including contract surveillance
  • Current NSW General Construction Induction card (white card) or acceptable interstate alternative
  • Minimum NSW Class C driver's licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
  • Proof of right to work in Australia
