Queensland are looking for a Veterinary Manager to join their amazing team


As the Vet Manager you will be accountable for the clinical growth of a region of veterinary clinics, driving and supporting excellent standards of care, focusing on the recruitment, development and retention of clinical staff, diagnosing clinic profitability problems, and providing clinical governance assurance.

The overall objective of the role is to partner with the Regional Managers and clinic leaders to achieve clinical and business success and be the veterinary voice in the regional operations team.


You will be the evangelist for clinical standards, network opportunities, succession opportunities, and providing expertise in workflows and efficiencies to maximise clinical performance.


The role is a coach and mentor for veterinarians in the region, understanding and building the local network, and will provide special attention to clinics in need of commercial or clinical improvement (which may include temporarily taking the regional management of underperforming clinics to provide targeted support).

To be successful in this role, Veterinary Managers will need to spend time in their region's clinics regularly.

This role will help veterinary clinics identify and leverage their existing individual strengths while highlighting and influencing opportunities for improvement and growth.


The Veterinary Manager has a dotted line reporting relationship with the General Manager of Veterinary Operations and Systems as part of establishing a collegial clinical leader community, sharing best practice across the regions, and leaning into the expertise of the greater clinical leadership team.


Goals and bonus structures will be developed in conjunction with the General Manager of Veterinary Operations and Systems, with performance indicators including regional clinical standards, veterinarian retention, development, network cadence, and wellness program utilisation.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science, current Veterinary Board Registration, user's license for Ionising Radiation and Microchipping.
  • Travel is required for this opportunity
  • Minimum three years in a veterinary leadership role; ability to manage caseloads and review standards.
  • Exceptional collaboration and team building skills, including high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated coaching and mentoring ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Financial acumen and confident reporting abilities.
