General Manager opportunity in the hospitality/accommodation space

This unique opportunity combines a hybrid role of General Manager autonomy but still having a hand in building the pipeline of business, for which you will be rewarded.

The role will be split to 70% of GM responsibility and 30% of building business.


Supported by a highly capable Assistant GM and a solid team, you will oversee all operations of the facility whilst still having a solid hand in customer interaction and networking.


Appealing to such a wide audience, you will work with current customers to ensure repeat business whilst connecting with new ones from automated leads as well as building your own networks.

Its 350-bed capsule offering and sprawling grounds, are the ideal destination for school camps, sporting groups, youth groups, corporate conferences, leadership days, and group holiday adventures.

Offering everything from high rope adventures to rock climbing, swimming, and activities on the Swan River, they are situated in a perfect location for those who don't have the time to travel far from the CBD.


Offering everything from accommodation, indoor and outdoor activities, conference rooms, catering, and school holiday programs, they attract a wide range of audiences, and the business is thriving as its solid reputation spreads.


With a hotel feel to it, they look after everything from activities, catering, sleeping arrangements, and all other logistics surrounding this.


Description
Reporting to the Executive Manager, responsibilites include (but are not limted to):

  • Develop the business and marketing plan for the business
  • Innovate, implement new business developmental plans, and engage in proactive marketing strategies
  • Develop the necessary teams to operate the center
  • Develop alliances with appropriate service providers to organise all on and offsite activities
  • Work crossfunctionally across all supporting teams with impeccable communication and planning
  • Develop new business opportunities within the Education, Hospitality, and tourismrelated industries.
  • Cold/Warm calling and attending facetoface meetings selling the adventure activities and Hospitality services
  • Maintain competitive pricing of hospitality and activity products and services
  • Deliver revenue and profitability that assure the sustainability of the business and provide attractive returns to stakeholders
  • Achieve monthly sales and revenue targets
  • Following up on autogenerated leads
  • Prepare and submit reports as required to management

Profile


As well as having the ability to drive and inspire teams, you will run the functional operations of the business as well as demonstrating the ability to build on current business.


  • Experience within a fastpaced and competitive B2B hospitality/venue environment is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to drive the development of a balanced pipeline of new business.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of the Education Act and Regulations.
  • Willingness to accept flexibility in hours as required.
  • Demonstrable prior achievement of ontargetearnings
  • Ability to learn and use hospitality systems effectively (use of Venue Life Software would be an advantage)
  • Able to progress deals from lead/identification through proposal and conversion
  • Determined, passionate, and committed
