We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Purchasing Officer who will be responsible for Supply Plans for a portfolio of Suppliers.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager you will work closing with the supply chain team to manage the supply of inventory from a portfolio of our suppliers and ensure the maximum possible service level to our customers, whilst effectively balancing the competing pressures of minimizing stock obsolescence due to use-by date issues and maintaining required inventory and working capital levels.

Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the purchasing of inventory from our suppliers to ensure we have sufficient inventory to meet customers' requirements.
- Build a positive working relationship with our suppliers to ensure effective twoway collaboration.
- Provide our suppliers with purchasing forecasts and other information as required.
- Ensure optimum stock levels by managing order frequency, minimum order sizes, order multiples and other relevant logístical parameters.
- Manage the introduction of new lines and suppliers into our range.
- Work closely with our Sales and Demand Planning Teams to integrate new products and ranges into our Supply Chain.
- Maintain some SKU level master data in our systems to ensure data accuracy.
- Proactively report on current and potential Supplier service level issues.
- Report on current and potential product obsolescence to our sales team, our VRP's and Management.
- Monitor customer service misses and projected stock outs and communicate to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Strong experience in FMCG Supply Planning management.
- Degree qualified in Commerce, Logistics, Science or Engineering (or similar).
- Highlevel understanding of Supply Chain management processes and best practice.
- Previous exposure in managing procurement and planning/capacity management.
- Experience in the development of Supply Chain strategies.
- Experience in the use of ERP systems.
- Strong computer skills with advanced Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge.
- Diplomacy and tact in order to gain support at all levels in the business coupled with confidence, intelligence and business acumen skills to influence abilities and outcomes.
- Detail oriented with the ability to assess all options while thinking laterally.
- An individual who is prepared to own a process and accept accountability for performance.
- Decisive, with the ability to make sound decisions, based on experience and good judgement.
- Ability to propose and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills. In particular, the ability to advocate change and influence internal opinion.
