Your day as a Category Specialist
Your typical day-to-day work includes partnering with stakeholders in a category/range of categories to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to deliver value for money and effectively meet business outcomes and government directions.
This role liaises extensively with other areas within Treasury, with NSW government agencies and equivalents in other jurisdictions across Australia, and with external stakeholders.
Achieve success as Category Specialist

Data Driven- Your strong attention to detail and advanced numerical and excel skills enable you to derive information from data/contracts/market intelligence and present compelling insights in different forms such as graphs, charts, reports and presentations with a high level of accuracy.
Collaborator - Your strong communication skills and ability to develop strong networks and relationships enable you to partner with a wider range of internal and external stakeholders to find win-win solutions.
