The

purpose of this role is to manage the outsourced insurance management function, on behalf of University and affiliated clients as a part of our nation Higher Education Practice. As an Insurance Manager you will cohesively manage the needs of key Higher Education clients, focusing on sustaining strong client relationships, managing the insurance functions of universities, liaising with our broking team and working with a highly collaborative team of Insurance professionals.

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Manager who can demonstrate these accountabilities:


  • Maintaining strong relationships with an existing portfolio of Higher Education clients, based on demonstrated insurance management capability and professional client service delivery
  • Advise clients on insurable risks, appropriate insurance solutions, processes and procedures, and work with brokers to provide solutions to the clients
  • Maintaining an awareness of all claim related matters, manage and participate actively with claims team around all notified matters, and administer client selfinsurance schemes
  • Participate in project work involving significant insurance issues, including but not limited to capital projects, new initiatives and major tenders
  • Undertake a series of training sessions with the universities to increase the awareness of insurance
  • Develop, maintain and improve insurance guidelines, procedures and archives (historical data collation) including maintaining and updating the insurance website
  • Project manage the renewal information data collection from various sections of the university, as well as any information required for ongoing insurance projects and enquiries

This is a great opportunity and to be considered, we are seeking a min of 5-6 years' experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to the Insurance industry plus:

  • Solid insurance management experience in large organisations, preferably with a Higher Education industry background
  • Thorough technical competency in a broad range of general insurance products related to Higher Education
  • Preferably, Qualified Tier 1 Insurance Broking and/or Dip Fin Services (Insurance Broking)
  • Strong communicator with excellent relationship building skills who thrives on client servicing to the highest standards
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure the most efficient outcomes for our clients
  • Highly skilled account management capability to meet tight deadlines, while working in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
